Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation (FVHCF) unveiled its Board of Directors for 2019-2020. Three new directors’ roles were elected: Michael Adkins – Chair, Todd Kesslar – Vice Chair, and Logan Song – Finance.
FVHCF’s new board members not only bring a multidisciplinary perspective, but an in-depth understanding of the local area. FVHCF welcomes its new directors with great pride and looks forward to continuing to deliver on its mandate to improve the quality of health care for our local communities.
On behalf of its staff and donors, the FVHCF thanks its outgoing board members for their outstanding work and contributions to both the organization and health care in the Fraser Valley.

“I am pleased to be working with a strong board of comprised of industry professionals and community leaders that are dedicated to the health care in the region.” Said Liz Harris, Executive Director-FVHCF. “Under Michael’s leadership this board will continue to advance our profile and work to support our vision.
The new board chair Michael Adkins is retired after working over 50 years in executive positions in several careers. An entrepreneur, he owned a restaurant and started a wholesale bakery business that provided unique products for restaurants, hotels, delicatessens and pubs. Adkins also held executive positions in the supermarket industry, security, construction and manufacturing sectors. He is now a full-time volunteer in the community.
With over 24 years of service with Rotary, Adkins has been recognized with numerous awards. In 2017, he was nominated for Abbotsford’s Philanthropist Volunteer of Year, was awarded the D.F. Service Above Self Award and the Fraser Valley Champion of Diversity Award in 2018, and is nominated for the 2018 Community Builder Award.
