The Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation (FVHCF) has announced that it is proceeding with its second annual Grand Gala in November, with plans underway to ensure provincial pandemic guidelines are followed.
The Winter Wonderland-themed event, presented by Snowcrest Foods, takes place Friday, Nov. 20 at the Harrison Hot Springs Hotel.
The gala will bring together donors, supporters, public officials and community leaders from across the eastern Fraser Valley to celebrate and support hospitals and health care in the region.
Last year’s event, which had a 1920s Great Gatsby theme, raised more than $110,000.
Liz Harris, FVHCF executive director, said the foundation is working hard to maintain the safety and well-being of everyone attending the gala.
She said the foundation is looking into alternatives, such as multiple venues or hosting it virtually in a unique and fun way.
“Last year we saw the gala sell out. This was humbling as it helps us with our mission to support health care in all of our communities in the eastern Fraser Valley,” she said.
“Our support of the hospitals is dependent on fundraising and what better way to do it than attending the Grand Gala.”
The event includes silent and live auctions, dinner and entertainment. Tickets are $150 and are available online at fvhcf.ca. For information, tickets or sponsorship, call the office at 1-877-661-0314.
The FVHCF raises funds for equipment and programs funded or endorsed by Fraser Health in Abbotsford, Mission, Chilliwack, Hope, Agassiz and Harrison Hot Springs.
