The Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation (FVHCF) wants to brighten the days of patients and hospital staff in Abbotsford, Mission, Chilliwack and Hope.
The foundation is creating signs with messages of support and encouragement.
The signs will be made of coroplast to withstand the weather and will be posted on hospital grounds.
“Our patients are not able to visit with loved ones so seeing messages of support from their windows will be sure to brighten their day,” the FVCHF states on its Facebook page.
Individuals, families and co-workers are asked to submit their artwork for the signs to the foundation for approval. The artwork can be emailed to info@fvhcf.ca, and the email should indicate which site you would like your sign posted.
The message/artwork must fit on either a four-by-two-foot sign or a four-by-four-foot sign.
Once the artwork is approved, the individuals can then forward it to Bourquin Printers at design@bourquin.ca or call 604-859-7559 to order a sign.
Once Bourquin prints the sign and has received payment ($19.50 for the small sign and $35 for the large one), they will deliver it to the foundation, which will place it at the hospital of choice.
For those who prefer to make a cash donation, this can be done online at fvhcf.ca, which is working with local hospitals to identify their current needs.
The FVHCF says that anyone who wishes to donate food, coffee or other items to the staff at Abbotsford Regional Hospital, Mission Memorial Hospital, Chilliwack General Hospital or Fraser Canyon Hospital should first contact the foundation to coordinate drop-off.
This can be done by emailing info@fvhcf.ca or calling 604-851-4890.
